We continue to witness increasing acts of random violence throughout our nation, including within our schools. We see the photos of survivors gathered together, having just experienced unspeakable horror, right before their eyes. We see loved ones arriving to pick up the pieces, trying to grasp the reality of what just happened. Tears are shed, candles are lit, hugs are given, counseling is sought. Some folks might then attend a service at their local church. Many have attended funerals. Some might leave a memorial of candles and teddy bears to mark the spot where the massacre took place.
THEN WHAT? Maybe a month or two goes by and it seems another shooting happens.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
How many people blame The LORD and ask how could He allow this to happen? The questions we should be asking are: How many people are falling to their knees crying out to The LORD and asking for JESUS to help them? Why aren’t church leaders, parents, and teachers speaking up to have prayer put back into the schools?
First of all, I will clarify that it is certainly NOT The LORD’S fault these things are happening. In the Bible, Romans 3:23-24 states: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. We are sinners, living in a sinful world. The devil is the prince of this world. In John 14:30, JESUS addresses His disciples before He was crucified:
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
In John 17:14, JESUS is praying to The FATHER before He is betrayed and condemned to death: I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Anyone who accepts JESUS as Lord and Savior is not of this world. Activists are trying to save the world. WHY? In Luke 21:33 JESUS states: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
One of the problems is there are so many religious denominations in this country and this has absolutely nothing to do with The LORD.
THERE IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST, FOLLOWERS OF JESUS, THAT’S IT!
There is no mention of Catholics, Lutherans, Protestants, Baptists, Presbyterians, etc. in the Bible. In the book of James 1:27 GOD’S Word states: Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
In the early sixties, prayer was removed from our schools because some people were offended that their children had to be subjected to praying and giving thanks to their Creator.
THESE FOLKS DID THEIR CHILDREN, THEMSELVES AND ALL OF US A HUGE DISSERVICE!
It shocks me that all these years have gone by and this vital issue has not yet been addressed. People are so focused on offending others and being politically correct and legalistic, they are casting JESUS to the side. In today’s society, it’s okay to introduce school children to practices such as yoga, but not The LORD GOD? Yes, parents, look it up – Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices that originated in ancient India, and is based on Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. What’s wrong with this picture? This nation was founded on The LORD GODand it seems that our society is trying to remove Him from daily life in this country, little by little.
Only The LORD controls the weather, and society uses the term, “mother nature”. When people are healed from sickness, they give credit to the doctor. When people are saved from the pit of drug addiction, instead of praising The LORD GOD, they give credit to their counselor. People are encouraged to “meditate” to stay calm and focused. RIDICULOUS! The only one that we need to stay calm and focused is JESUS CHRIST, through prayer to HIM! The LORD GOD is a jealous GOD and will not share HIS Glory with anyone or anything else. Therefore, if folks are giving credit to someone or something else other than HIM or worshipping false gods, like with yoga, do you really think The LORD will honor that decision?
DO YOU THINK MAYBE THIS IS PART OF THE PROBLEM? We as a nation are NOT giving The LORD GOD credit for anything! After all this what do people expect? Do we as a nation expect to be blessed and protected? Do we expect good things to happen?
PEOPLE, IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
